What Dojo currently publishes
At our check, Dojo’s UK pricing page advertised a 1.2% blended transaction rate below £100,000 annual card turnover, with custom pricing above £100,000 and a choice of 12-month fixed or 30-day rolling arrangements in that custom-rate section. Hardware and plan choices are shown separately. Ask about the exact £100,000 boundary rather than assuming which offer applies.
These are published offers, not a personalised quotation or a statement that every existing merchant has these terms. Some public FAQs describe different arrangements. Resolve any difference with Dojo in writing before signing; do not combine a rate from one page with a term from another.
Request a full cost breakdown
- Processing: card mix, in-person versus remote payments, any per-transaction or authorisation charges and any exclusions from a blended rate.
- Hardware: purchase or rental, number of devices, replacement arrangements and the cost of returning equipment.
- Plans and add-ons: per-site charges, included services, promotional periods and the price afterwards.
- Exceptions: refunds, disputes, non-compliance or other conditional fees that could apply to your account.
- Settlement: your chosen transfer schedule, any upgrade charge and the destination account.
This is a list of questions, not a claim that all these charges apply. Get applicable amounts and VAT treatment in the proposal. Compare the same transaction mix and number of terminals with your current bill.
Read the agreement as a set of documents
The V2.0 general terms explain that the agreement includes application documents, applicable fee schedules, additional terms and any special conditions. The documents page also distinguishes fee-schedule versions: V2.1 is not automatically the version applying to every customer.
Save the documents you are actually offered. Ask which service has which minimum term, how renewal works, what notice is required, and what you owe if you close, sell or change the business. A rolling arrangement does not mean there are no obligations.
A practical statement-review checklist
- Choose a representative period.
Use a full month and a quieter month where relevant. Record card turnover, transaction count, refund activity and terminal count.
- Separate recurring and exceptional costs.
Keep one-off credits and charges visible so they do not distort the comparison.
- Get assumptions confirmed.
Ask for a written calculation using your figures. A projection is not guaranteed savings and changing card mix can change the outcome.
