What to compare
| Question | Dojo | Teya |
|---|---|---|
| How is pricing established? | Published and custom-rate routes, with hardware and plan choices. Confirm your offer. | Quote-led pricing. Request the components and card categories in writing. |
| Which contract applies? | Current pricing advertises fixed and rolling choices for custom-rate businesses. | Help documentation describes plan structures; do not interpret a headline as proof every contract is identical. |
| Where do takings arrive? | Confirm your transfer schedule and nominated account. | The public pricing page includes Teya Business Account and describes an extra transaction charge for an external account. |
| Will EPOS work? | Verify exact software version, terminal and required payment mode. | Do the same with Teya and your EPOS supplier; brand-level compatibility is not enough. |

Two Teya details worth checking
At our check, Teya’s pricing page stated that using a different bank account adds 10 basis points (0.10 percentage points) to transaction fees. Confirm the destination, settlement timing and applicability in your offer. Do not assume a business-account product has the same protections as a bank deposit; read the account’s own terms.
Teya also publishes minimum-volume fee guidance. Whether it applies, the threshold and the assessment period depend on the agreement. It would be misleading to apply an example fee to every Teya merchant or omit the question entirely.
Build a fair cost comparison
- Use the same trading inputs.
Include transaction count, average sale, card mix, online versus in-person payments, locations and devices. Add a quiet month for seasonal trade.
- Include the whole package.
List hardware, membership or plan charges, conditional minimums, refunds, disputes, settlement options and exit costs where applicable.
- Separate offers from assumptions.
Label promotional expiry dates and estimates. Ask each provider to confirm the calculation and applicable contract.
Choose around the workflow you need
Ask both providers to demonstrate your actual service: counter or table payment, splitting a bill, refunds and end-of-day reconciliation. Confirm who supports the integration and how staff work if it fails. Compare support channels and hours in the offer, rather than treating a published support claim as a measured response-time guarantee.
Our Dojo fees guide and EPOS checklist cover the detail. If you decide to change, follow the switching checklist. We can help with a Dojo enquiry; obtain any Teya proposal directly or through your own chosen route.
